Azerbaijan boosts butter imports

Azerbaijan imported 7,821 tons of butter worth $40.3 million in the first four months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the imports grew by 32 percent in volume and 23 percent in value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan supplied 4,552 tons (+83%) of butter from Iran worth $19.88 million (+86%), 2,159 tons (-2%) from New Zealand worth $13.1 million (-6), 389 tons (+63%) from Belarus worth $2.33 million (+41%), 234 tons (+19%) from Finland worth $1.59 million (+10) and 220 tons (-61%) from Ukraine worth $1.54 million (-51%).
In 2024, Azerbaijan imported butter from Portugal for the first time in 13 years. The shipment consisted of 0.06 tons, valued at $1,000.
