G7 countries warn Iran of consequences if it transfers ballistic missiles to Russia

Iran's transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia will entail a quick and coordinated response from the Group of Seven (G7) countries, according to a final joint statement of the foreign ministries of the G7 countries at the end of their three-day meeting on the island of Capri.

The document calls on Iran to cease supporting Russia's military operations in Ukraine.

Any move by Iran to transfer ballistic missiles or related technologies to Russia would constitute an actual and significant escalation, followed by swift and coordinated response, including new and tough measures against Iran, the document says.

The G7 countries also called on Iran to refrain from supporting the Palestinian Hamas movement and further destabilizing actions.
