Statistics on corruption offenses in Azerbaijan revealed

Baku. 22 July. REPORT.AZ/ During the first 6 months of this year, the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General of the citizens have reviewed 5 150 appeals of citizens, as well have investigated 95 criminal nature materials.

Report informs, Head of the Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General's Office Kamran Aliyev said.

65 (68% of total) of these materials were subject to opening the criminal cases, 30 (32% of total) materials were rejected for opening the cases and resulted with taking the necessary preventive measures.

During the reporting period, 161 "hot line" of the Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General received 3 414 calls, criminal cases were opened due 12 appeals on the various matters of the Criminal Code. Also, in collaboration with relevant government agencies have been implemented other measures to restore the violated rights of the appeals and in order to eliminate the offenses, necessary instructions were sent to the relevant organizations.

Today was held a press conference attended by the media and non-governmental organizations's representatives, devoted to the works done by the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General to fight against corruption during the first half of 2015.
