US envoy: COP 29 to draw attention to Azerbaijan

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Baku this year, will draw attention to Azerbaijan, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby told journalists, Report informs.

“We’re going to have COP 29 this year. It’s going to be hosted by our Azerbaijani hosts here. They’ve set an agenda that I think will, my senses, was going to focus largely on financing, which is an important piece of kind of how you handle the green transition. But a lot of attention will be put on Azerbaijan as hydrocarbons producing country in the same way that the attention was put on the Emirates before. And so how will Azerbaijan articulate kind of a new vision for its role in the energy infrastructure of the country, of the world? That’s exciting,” he noted.
