87-89% of advertising business in Azerbaijan falls on 'shadow economy'

Baku. 10 November. REPORT.AZ/ " As in many areas of the economy, there is an informal activity in advertising."

Report informs, the member of the committee for economic policy of Milli Majlis Vahid Ahmedov said today.

According to him, because of the shadow economy, state budget revenues from this area below the real potential by 8-9 times:"According to the State Statistical Committee, revenue from the advertising market to the budget is approximately 50 mln AZN. Advertising, just like many other areas ruled by shadow economy.Our research shows that, in reality, this figure can be equal to 400-450 mln AZN."

According to V.Ahmedov, while preparing the draft law "On Advertising" main attention was paid on the issue of language and social orientation."In the preparation of the bill we put the demand before the TV and radio about how they allocate time to social advertising in at least 8% of their programs."
