Tourist flow from Azerbaijan up by 23%

In January-August 2023, the number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled abroad increased by 23% compared to the same period last year and reached 1,209,000 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who went to Russia, Georgia, and Türkiye increased by 1.5 times, 33.6%, and 13.7% respectively, and to Iran decreased by 20%.
Some 44.3% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 21.3% - the Russian Federation, 9.1% - Georgia, 7.4% - Iran, and 17.9% - other countries. 65.1% of those were men, and 34.9% were women.
68.6% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries by air, 28.8% by rail and car, and 2.6% by sea.
