Tourist flow from Azerbaijan nearly triples

Compared to a year earlier, the number of Azerbaijani citizens travelling abroad in January-March 2022 increased by 2.7 times to 298,500 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
The number of people travelling to Iran went up 5.1-times, to Russia rose 2.6 times, to Turkiye increased by 2.6 times, and to Georgia – by 2.3 times. Some 44.5% of the country's citizens travelled to Turkiye, 18.7% to Russia, 8% to Georgia, 12.9% to Iran, and 15.9% to other countries. 66.4% of travellers were men and 33.6% were women.
Last month, 39.2% of Azerbaijani citizens going abroad used rail and road, 58.4% used air, and 2.4% used the sea.
