Baku. 4 December. REPORT.AZ/ Singapore tops the ranking of the most expensive cities in the world to live for the fourth consecutive year.
Report informs, says a research of the Economist Intelligence Unit magazine.
According to research Singapore is followed by Hong Kong and Zurich (Switzerland).
160 products and services prices were compared in 133 countries to make the rating.
The first top ten cities include Tokyo (Japan), Osaka (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Geneva (Switzerland), Paris (France), New York (USA) and Copenhagen (Denmark).
The least expensive cities were Almaty in Kazakhstan.
The least expensive cities include (from bottom to top) Lagos (Nigeria), Bangalore (India), Karachi (Pakistan), Algeria (Algiers), Chennai (India), Mumbai (India), Kyiv (Ukraine), Bucharest (Hungary), New Delhi (India).
The rating of the following cities has weakened in the last 12 months: Manchester (UK), Buenos Aires (Argentina), London (UK), Buenos Aires (Argentine), London (UK), Beijing (China), Suzhou (China), Lagos (Nigeria), Guangzhou (China), Tianjin (China), Dalian (China), Mexico (Mexico).
The cities whose rating increase for the past 12 months are San Paolo (Brazil), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Wellington (New Zealand), Auckland (New Zealand), Brisbane (Australia), Adelaide (Australia), Istanbul (Turkey), Montevideo (Uruguay), Moscow (Russia) and Reykjavik (Island).
