"One of the main issues that the State Tourism Agency focuses on is the tourism potential of Karabakh," adviser to the Chairman of the Agency Kanan Guluzade said, Report informs.
"We are working on assessing the liberated territories, the development of concepts, strategies and other fields. We have already presented several routes within the "Our way is to Karabakh" project. About 1 million people, including domestic and foreign tourists, will visit Karabakh by 2025," he said.
Guluzade also spoke about the plans to create tourism infrastructure in Karabakh: "We have certain plans on tourism infrastructure in the liberated territories, for instance, Hadrut, Sugovushan, Shahbulag, etc. We have involved foreign specialists. At the same time, we are consulting with public unions on this issue."
"We are promoting Karabakh and East Zangazur. Since May last year, we have been demonstrating the potential of Shusha and Zangazur. We see that there is a great interest, which will create another opportunity for Azerbaijan's tourism. In other words, we are returning to the world market with a new advantage in a competitive environment," Guluzadeh added.
