Tourism sector to reach 10% of Baku's GDP in 2040

The share of the tourism sector in Baku’s gross domestic product (GDP) will be 10% in 2040, Report informs referring to the Master Plan for the Development of the City of Baku until 2040.

The document indicates that the share of the capital’s tourism sector in GDP in 2019 amounted to 1.898 billion manats ($1.116 billion) or 6.5%.

In addition, the projected annual economic growth in this area is 5%.
