Number of Azerbaijani nationals going abroad up nearly 22%

The number of Azerbaijani nationals who went abroad in January 2023 was 109,300, up 21.9% from the same period of the last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, the number of Azerbaijani citizens going to Georgia increased by 1.6 times, to Türkiye by 18.4%, to Iran by 13%, and to the Russian Federation by 2.7%.

Some 38.2% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 21.7% visited Russia, 10.5% visited Georgia, 9% visited Iran, and 16.6% visited other countries. Reportedly, 69.2% of them were men, while women accounted for 30.8% only.
