Number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Iran drops by over 25%

The total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to foreign countries in January-March of this year increased by 20.2% compared to the same period of 2022 and reached 358,600 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Russia increased by 46.6%, Georgia by 44.6%, Türkiye by 6.4%, and the number of those going to Iran decreased by 25.4%. Some 39.4% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 22.9% visited the Russian Federation, 9.6% visited Georgia, 8% visited Iran, and 20.1% visited other countries. Of them, 68.9% were men, and 31.1% were women.

Some 67.4% of Azerbaijani citizens traveled by air, 30% traveled by railway and vehicular transport and 2.6% traveled by sea.
