The Turkish authorities promise not to obstruct foreign guests on sightseeing trips and visiting museums during the lockdown, Report informs with reference to the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR).

Tourism Minister Mehmet Ersoy has explained what exactly awaits vacationers from April 29 to May 17.

“The nationwide restrictions will not affect incoming tourists. Museums and historical sites will be open for them,” he said.

Representatives of the host companies have also confirmed this information with reference to the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB):

“There are no restrictions on the movement of foreign travelers in Turkey. Tours will continue, including visits to museums and archaeological sites.”

According to Mehmet Ersoy, hotels where foreigners will live during the lockdown comply with all epidemiological protocols and have a certificate of safe tourism. These hotels are audited at least four times a month for compliance with sanitary requirements, and without prior notice to the owners.
