Thanks to the expansion of direct air connections, simplified electronic visa system, and hospitable environment, Azerbaijan has today strengthened its status as an accessible center connecting Europe with other directions of the region."
The chairman also noted that Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 in 2024 has significantly increased the country's role in international tourism:
"For the first time this year, tourism issues have been included in the COP agenda. This became possible as a result of Azerbaijan's partnership with the UN Tourism Organization. In addition to two high-level roundtables, the first tourism ministers' event was also organized by the COP29 Presidency, State Tourism Agency, and UN Tourism Organization. As a key outcome of this framework, the COP29 Declaration on Enhanced Climate Action in Tourism was presented. This initiative has already been supported by more than 70 countries, including a number of European states. We take this opportunity to invite other partner countries to join this important initiative."
