"Croatia, which has been considered one of the main tourist centers in Europe for several years, is renewing its tourism priorities. The country is already planning to receive tourists from different regions,” says Rajko Ruzicka, the director of the regional representative office of the Croatian National Tourist Board, who was on a visit to Baku earlier this week, Report informs.
“Especially, this process has become more relevant after the Russian-Ukrainian war. Because the number of tourists from both Russia and Ukraine has decreased for objective reasons," said Mr. Ruzicka.
According to him, now Croatian state and private tourism companies intend to attract many tourists from Azerbaijan and Central Asia. Mr. Ruzicka, who stressed the regional importance of Baku, does not exclude the opening of a center by the Croatian National Tourist Board in the capital city soon.
Negotiations with various tourism companies, state institutions, and airlines in this direction are currently underway. The director of the regional office said that direct flights between the two countries play a major role in the development of tourism relations. That is the reason why they are interested in opening and gradually increasing the number of flights.
Noting that his country is the most attractive tourist destination as a country located in the heart of Europe, the Croatian official added that Croatia, located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, has all kinds of opportunities for holidays in different seasons.
It is no coincidence that Croatia, whose population is approaching 4 million and which joined the eurozone in 2023, welcomes about 20 million tourists every year. Croatians wish to see many Azerbaijanis on the list of tourists.
