Azerbaijani travel agencies get 22,4 mln income in first half of 2017

Baku. 24 October.REPORT.AZ/ In January-June, revenues of travel agencies and tourism companies in Azerbaijan increased by 13.1% to 22.4 million manat as compared to corresponding period in 2016.

Report informs referring to State Statistical Committee (SSC), the agencies served 29,7 thousand tourists which is more by 6,5% than in the corresponding period last year.

Azerbaijani citizens who travelled within the country using the services of travel agencies increased by 37%, foreign nationals visiting Azerbaijan increased by 66,7%, the number of Azerbaijani citizens going abroad decreased by 5.7%.

Azerbaijani citizens who spent their holidays abroad through travel companies was 20,000 people. 47,7% of them traveled to Turkey, 12,7% to UAE, 12,4% Russia, 9,1% Iran, 3% Germany, 1,6% Georgia, 1,4% Italy, 1,3% Czech Republic, 0,7% Ukraine, and 10,1% other states.

In first half of 2017, 6,300 Azerbaijan citizens spent their holidays within the country using the service of travel agencies. 21,2% of them spent their holidays in Ismayilli, 19,3% Gabala, 16,7 % Khachmaz, 12,7% Khazar, 9,7% Gusar, 5,4% Guba, 4,5% Qakh and 10,5% other cities and districts of the country.
