The volume of transactions made by foreign citizens in Azerbaijan using bank cards in May this year accounted for 24.3 million AZN. Report informs, citing the Export Review prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications (CAERC).
This figure is $ 76.6 million or 75.92% less compared to the same period last year.
The decline is caused by a decrease in the number of tourists visiting the country since March over pandemic. In general, in January-May 2020, the volume of transactions made by foreigners decreased by 219.7 million AZN or 46.19% than in the same period last year and made 256 million AZN.
