Azerbaijan posts nearly 39% growth in passenger transportation by air

In January-May of 2024, 1,192,751 passengers were transported by air from Azerbaijan, an increase of 38.5% from the same period of 2023, Report informs citing the State Tourism Agency.

During the reporting period, most of the passengers – 334,113 people- visited Russia, up 27.8% from a year ago.

Russia is followed by Türkiye (298,293 passengers, +26.5%) and the United Arab Emirates (163,769 passengers, +47.3%).

In May alone, 283,917 passengers were transported from Azerbaijan. This is 35.8% more than the same month last year. In May, the number of travelers from Azerbaijan to Russia increased by 28.1% to 79,562 passengers.
