Azerbaijan becomes partner with International Ski and Snowboard Federation

The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan and the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) have signed a partnership agreement on the development of winter tourism and winter sports, and the country's hosting of prestigious international winter sports competitions, Report informs, citing the agency.

The document envisages joint cooperation in improving the existing infrastructure in the field of winter tourism, transforming the country into an attractive winter tourism destination for foreign tourists, as well as organizing international ski competitions at the Shahdag Mountain Resort.

One of the main goals within the framework of international cooperation is to promote Azerbaijan as a destination for world-class professional competitions in winter sports, as well as to ensure a large-scale marketing and promotional campaign for the country's tourism brand and products in the international arena.

According to the agreement, Azerbaijan will act as the organization's Global Destination Partner in global competitions (world cups and championships) organized by the FIS.

Starting from the next winter season, it is planned to hold world-scale competitions of the IFS at the Shahdag Tourism Center.
