Azerbaijan, Albania ink memo on tourism cooperation

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Azerbaijan Tourism Board under the State Tourism Agency (STA) and the Albanian National Tourism Agency to strengthen cooperation, Report informs, citing the STA.

The document was signed by Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and Zana Cela, General Director of the Albanian National Tourism Agency.

The memorandum aims to promote cooperation between tourism entities, mutual promotion, support for new initiatives, intercultural dialogue and the development of sustainable tourism. The document includes support for environmentally responsible tourism initiatives in accordance with the climate action principles adopted within the framework of COP29, and the development of year-round tourism in coastal and mountainous areas as key priorities.

The memorandum also reflects joint activities such as information and experience exchange, marketing cooperation, professional skills development, tourism fairs, specialized tourism days, training, exhibitions and forums, and promotional tours for media representatives, in order to promote the tourism potential of the countries and increase mutual tourist flows.
