IOC uncovers nearly 100,000 cases of online athlete harassment

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has revealed a staggering number of online posts targeting and harassing athletes since the commencement of the Olympic Games in Paris.

According to Report, Ilario Corna, the IOC's Director of Information Technology, announced to journalists that over 97,000 posts containing cyberbullying against athletes have been identified.

"It's crucial to remember that athletes are at the heart of all our efforts," Corna emphasized. "Thanks to artificial intelligence, we are assisting them in protecting themselves against cyber attacks."

The sophisticated AI system analyzed more than 1.5 million posts, flagging over 97,000 potentially aggressive and unpleasant messages for further review.

The Paris Olympics kicked off on July 26 and will conclude on August 11.
