Pakistan: History, Geography, Economy, and Culture

Pakistan (officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan) is a sovereign country in South Asia, positioned at a critical crossroads connecting South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Boasting a coastline along the Arabian Sea in the south, it shares land borders with India to the east, Afghanistan to the west and northwest, Iran to the southwest, and China to the far northeast. 1. Historical Background and Ancient Roots

Cradle of Civilization: The territory of modern Pakistan holds some of the world's oldest urban settlements, serving as the heartland of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization (including major archaeological sites like Harappa and Mohenjo-daro) dating back over 4,500 years.
