Number of Azerbaijan’s economically active population announced

According to preliminary data, as of December 1, 2021, the economically active population of Azerbaijan totaled 5,302,400 people, of whom the employed population stood at 4,986,600 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

As of November 1, 2021, the number of employees amounted to 1,702,100 people, including 903,600 people in the public sector of the economy, 798,500 people in the nonpublic sector. The oil and gas sector of the economy employs 31,600 people, the non-oil sector employs 1,670,500 people.
