There are gaps in worker protection regulations worldwide, which businesses exploit to avoid their obligations, Luc Triangle, the General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation, said in his video address to participants of the conference "Impact of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence on Jobs" in Baku.
Report quotes him as saying employers shift all risks onto workers, operate in a legal grey zone, and resist regulations that would ensure fair conditions.
"This issue affects the entire workforce in the form of a 'race to the bottom'," he said.
