Azerbaijan to increase pensions, benefits, social payments

Social protection and social security of the low-income and vulnerable groups, people with disabilities, including children with disabilities under 18, must be intensified by raising the effectiveness and fairness of the social security system, as is reflected in the decree of President Ilham Aliyev on the approval of the program, 'Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development.'

Report informs that, for this purpose, the country must achieve a decent level of minimum amounts of pensions, benefits, scholarships, and other social benefits.

The financial stability of the pension system must be strengthened for its long-term development. The proportion of the amount of pensions to the insurance premiums paid must be increased.
