A database on disabled veterans of the First Karabakh War has been prepared, the Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Sahil Babayev, said, Report informs.
Babayev noted that President Ilham Aliyev signed the decree “On strengthening social protection of servicemen and officers of internal affairs bodies, as well as their family members, who are disabled as a result of injury (wound, trauma, contusion) or illness sustained while performing military service duties (service duties) or during actual military service to protect the territorial integrity, independence and constitutional structure of the Republic of Azerbaijan” on December 23 last year.
“The purpose of this document was to make one-time payments to people with disabilities at that time. For the implementation of the decree, during the last seven months, the joint working group of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the Ministry of Defense re-inventorized all the certificates of military injuries from 1991-1997. Those data are collected in the electronic system. As a result of all this, a relevant base was formed. Today, under the decree of the President, Prime Minister Ali Asadov approved the procedure for issuing those payments,” the minister said.
