Bahar Muradova: Azerbaijan no longer in first ranks for sex-selective abortions

Azerbaijan is no longer in the first ranks for aborting unborn girls, the chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova said at a briefing dedicated to the first six months of 2023, Report informs.
Baharova noted that necessary measures are being taken to root out this problem.
"Negotiations are underway with young families on the issue of family planning. A bill is being developed in this regard. It is on the agenda of the Milli Majlis. Once it comes into force, it will create a basis for providing reproductive assistance to women. Currently, the relevant institutions are keeping this issue under strict control, analyses are being conducted and the results are being discussed," she said.
