Azerbaijani MP notes growth in price for foodstuffs and agricultural production

Prices for foodstuffs and agricultural products are driven up by the monopoly, Tahir Rzayev, Chair of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Committee on Agrarian Policy said.

Report informs that Rzayev was speaking at the joint session of the parliamentary committees on youth and sport, labor and social policy, agrarian policy, regional affairs and natural resources, energy and ecology.

He said prices on agricultural products in districts are five times as low as in Baku.

The parliament member called on the respective bodies to think over this as the price hike damages entrepreneurs and reduces people's welfare.
