"President Ilham Aliyev has defined the solution of the problems of people belonging to this vulnerable group as the number one task before all state institutions," he said.
According to him, essential steps are being taken by the state to improve the living conditions of the families of martyrs and war disabled, to provide them with private houses and apartments, and in several other directions: "The state program for the implementation of full provision of housing for the disabled and other vulnerable groups has been approved. As a result, more than 13 thousand people in this category have been provided with apartments or private houses. About 3,500 of them were provided in the post-war period. At the same time, significant steps are being taken to protect veterans' health, provide them with modern prostheses, and join rehabilitation courses. This also contributes to their recovery. Provision of socio-psychological services can be added to these works."
The parliamentarian said that as the economic strength of the country increases, the amount of allowances and social payments paid to people from this category increases: "In this regard, the head of state signed several orders in the last two years. According to the decrees signed by President Ilham Aliyev, the amount of benefits given to families of martyrs, veterans, and other vulnerable groups has increased. Also, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by the First Vice-President of our country, Mehriban Aliyeva, is implementing various projects for people from this category. All this suggests that issues such as providing attention and care to families of martyrs, veterans and other vulnerable people and improving their living conditions are among the priorities of our state policy."
