622 children adopted in Azerbaijan since November 2019

A total of 622 children have been adopted in Azerbaijan since November 1, 2019, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population told Report.

Of them 310 are boys and 312 are girls.

Some 66 of the children were adopted by close relatives.

Management and services in the field of adoption, like other activities of the ministry, are conducted through electronic infrastructure.

The Ministry monitors the physical and moral development of adopted children. Monitoring occurs quarterly during the first year of adoption and annually thereafter until the children turn 18. To date, approximately 6,000 such monitoring activities have been conducted.
