Azerbaijan will not participate in the upcoming Intervision Song Contest in Russia, according to an announcement shared by the event's organizers on social media, Report informs.
The United Arab Emirates has also opted out of the competition, citing internal circumstances and a lack of time for preparation.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a list of participating countries. During a press conference, Alexander Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations at the MFA, confirmed that 21 countries will take part in the event.
“Unfortunately, not all the countries we invited ended up on the final list,” Alimov stated.
