Islam calls for peace and security, dignity and honor - this idea must be conveyed to the world community, Mohamed al-Shahhat al-Jindi, Rector of Egyptian University for Islamic Culture based in Kazakhstan, said at an international conference on "Islamophobia as a Specific Form of Racism and Discrimination: New Global and Transnational Challenges", which kicked off in Baku today.
According to him, Muslims from all over the world face serious challenges and problems today.
"We all face many difficulties. The main one is Islamophobia. This is a threat to the entire Muslim world," he said.
Al-Jindi stressed that Islam calls for brotherhood, peace, tolerance, and Muslims must fight to correctly convey these principles of Islam to the world community, because Islamophobes are a "community of the blind."
He also noted that this conference would be a very good platform for discussing these issues.
