The 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions adopted a final declaration of 35 articles, Report informs, citing Kazakh media sources.
The declaration was read by the representative of the Anglican Church from the UK, Bishop of Dorking Jo Bailey Wells, at the congress's closing and was accepted by most congress participants. The document will be circulated as an official document at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
In the declaration, the clerics emphasized that they spoke out against extremism, radicalism, terrorism, and other forms of violence. The document mentions the importance of peace and peaceful coexistence for the sake of humanity.
The declaration emphasized that an agreement was reached to hold the VIII Congress on September 14-15, 2025, in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.
About 100 representatives from 50 countries participated in the VII congress.
