Armenia intends to fully perform the chairmanship functions in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU); the ratification of the Rome statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) will not affect this, said Vagharshak Hakobyan, deputy head of the permanent parliamentary commission on regional issues and issues of Eurasian integration, a member of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s party, Report informs via TASS.
“Armenia has ratified the Rome Statute to acquire additional security guarantees for our country and its citizens. And the execution of Armenia's chairmanship in the EAEU is a completely different process. I don't think it makes sense to mix these two. Once again, I assure you that Armenia will completely fulfill its commitments,” Hakobyan said.
