Yerevan City Hall decides to increase public transport fares

The Yerevan City Hall has decided to soon increase the fare on buses from 100 drams ($0.25) to 150 drams ($0.37), Vice-President of the Bright Armenia Party David Khazhakyan said, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

"Well, naturally, they will say that everything has become more expensive, and travel should also become more expensive," he said, adding that it would be possible to maintain the same prices by carrying out a complete reform.

"But even if the cost goes up, people won't have to wait at bus stops, traffic won't have to be as long as it is now, and it won't be as congested as it is now," he said.
