Yasar Guler: Russia will do everything possible to stay in Syria

Russia will do everything possible to stay in Syria, Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler said in his statement to journalists, Report informs via Hürriyet newspaper.

Guler stated that there is no concrete evidence of Russia withdrawing its troops from Syria: "Some ships might be taken to Russia for repairs. But I don't think Russia will leave Syria now. They will do everything possible to stay there. Even a Russian official has stated that they will continue to stay in Syria and will discuss this topic with the new administration."

The minister said that Russia has gathered its troops from different areas within Syria to the Tartus and Latakia regions: "We told them we could provide necessary support at this stage. However, they haven't made any requests. After recent events in the region, every country has its own game."
