Verkhovna Rada deputy: Events in Yekaterinburg further proof - Russia is xenophobic empire

Ethnic persecution is taking place in Russia. This time, the victims are Azerbaijanis, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksii Goncharenko told Report.

"All this is further proof that Russia is a xenophobic empire. They are constantly looking for a foreign, different person who is to blame for everything," he emphasized.

Goncharenko noted that if previously the Ukrainians and representatives of the Baltic countries were the culprits, now it is the turn of the Azerbaijanis: "Unfortunately, this is a practice that they regularly carry out. The harsh reaction of the Azerbaijani government is very correct. Events along Russian lines are being cancelled, an investigation is required. The only language that Moscow understands is the language of force, and Azerbaijan is behaving very decently in this sense."
