US designates PKK as terrorist organization, diplomatic source says

We understand that the PKK is a priority for Türkiye, and the US recognizes the PKK as a terrorist organization, a diplomatic source said, Report informs, citing Haber Global.

According to information, economic cooperation, trade partnerships, and the fight against terrorism will be discussed at the meeting on "Strategic Mechanisms of Türkiye and the US," which will be held on March 7-8 in Washington.

It was emphasized that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will also participate in the event. The US is Türkiye's second largest trading partner.

It was noted that the working groups will also discuss the fight against terrorism, the Middle East, Syria, Israel-Gaza, the South Caucasus, and the Russia-Ukraine war.
