US issues visas for participation of Russian delegation in UN Security Council events

Most of the visas for the Russian delegation to participate in upcoming UN events in New York have already been issued, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov said, Report informs via Interfax.

“Visas are in the process of being issued, and a significant number of visas have already been received. However, we have not yet received all the visas we requested. The work is ongoing, there are still a few days left, I would like to hope that visas will be issued to everyone for whom they have been requested,” he said.

Ryabkov also noted that he does not foresee possible contacts between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York.

The day before, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced that Lavrov would take part in the open debates of the UN Security Council on January 22-24.
