Ukrainian Foreign Ministry urges citizens to stay calm

The Foreign Ministry notes that they are taking all measures to counter the aggressive actions of Russia and urge Ukrainians to stay calm, UNIAN reports, citing the statement of the Foreign Ministry, Report informs.

"From the outset of the escalation by the Russian Federation, the leadership of our state, the Ukrainian diplomacy, and the army have been making every effort to ensure that Ukraine remains steadfast and ready for various scenarios of events, and any aggressive intentions against our state not to come true. In particular, yesterday at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, chaired by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a thorough analysis of the current security situation and further actions of Ukraine took place,” the statement says.

The Foreign Ministry noted that thanks to the recent decisions of the president, the parliament, and the government, as well as the assistance of partners, Ukraine has further beefed up the ability to protect the security of the state and Ukrainian citizens.

"The comprehensive package of containment of Russia, proposed to partners by Ukraine in November 2021, has become an effective tool to counter the aggressive policy of the Kremlin, and now our state has a strong position thanks to coordinated diplomatic contacts at all levels, the completion of preparations in the US and the EU for tough sanctions, the supply of weapons and the provision of macro-financial assistance," the statement recalls.

The Foreign Ministry called on citizens to remain calm, consolidate within the country, and avoid actions that undermine stability and sow panic.

The ministry also noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are constantly monitoring developments and are ready to rebuff any infringement on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Ukrainian diplomacy is in touch with all key partners round the clock, promptly receives the necessary information that allows the authorities to take timely action, the Foreign Ministry added.

The Foreign Ministry assured that they continue to work to reduce tensions and mobilize concrete support from international partners in order to keep Russia in line with the diplomatic dialogue.
