Ukraine to receive new weapons, ammunition 'shortly', Verkhovna Rada member says

The decision of the US Congress is vital for Ukraine, Fedor Venislavsky, chairman of the Defense and State Security Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, told the Eastern Europe Bureau of Report. We hope that the shortage of shells in the Ukrainian army will be eliminated with this decision,

The chairman noted that his country will receive new weapons, ammunition, including missiles within a few days. He added that this will help prevent the attacks of the Russian army: "Because Russia has not given up its plans to capture all of Ukraine and destroy it as a state. The support of the United States and the European Union is important for us. They aim to arm our army."

According to Venislavsky, Ukraine's counter-offensive operations will take place when Russia does not expect: "It is not necessary to announce the time. First of all, it is necessary to curb Russia's attack."
