Ukraine proposes new corridor for grain export

The Ukrainian authorities have proposed a “new safe corridor” for the export of grain from its territory, Report informs referring to Ukrainian media.

The route of the corridor is not specified. If Russia and Ukraine can agree, their representatives will hold a meeting in Istanbul with the participation of Turkiye and the UN.

The sides are currently working on a plan for the export of grain. Ukraine wants security guarantees once its ports are cleared of mines, and Russia is demanding that its ships “would not encounter any surprises when entering international waters.”

The total volume of grain that Ukraine and Russia failed to supply to the world market is estimated at 40 million tons.

The Milliyet newspaper wrote that from June 27 to July 3, talks between Russia, Ukraine, Turkiye and the UN will be held in Istanbul, where they will discuss the grain issue.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that the authorities managed to lay two routes for grain exports through Poland and Romania.
