As the number of attacks on Ukrainian territory has increased recently, Kyiv is seeking Western permission to strike targets within Russia, according to Andriy Klochko, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament.

Report quotes him as saying the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation participated in a NATO Parliamentary Assembly meeting to address this issue.

"Our delegation achieved a vote on a resolution allowing the use of NATO-supplied weapons to strike targets on Russian territory and temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory. This is the right decision. This will allow us to inflict damage on the enemy as soon as possible and help Ukraine regain its territories and restore justice," Klochko said.

Military-political commentator Taras Berezovets told Report that currently, 11 European countries and Canada have given permission for strikes on Russia using Western-supplied weapons, while Germany, Portugal, and Italy opposed the move. According to him, recent reports in American media suggest that Washington does not object to this initiative

"America has spoken out in favor of airstrikes on Russian territory. This is a rather complex process. For the past few years, our Western partners, mainly the US and Germany, have taken a wait-and-see position while Russia inflicts serious damage on strategic infrastructure, including civilian targets in Ukraine. Finally, after Ukraine has suffered so many attacks, there have been some changes in the stance of our Western partners. In particular, Denmark has allowed F-16 fighter jets sent to Ukraine to strike military targets on Russian territory. The Ukrainian army has always had permission to strike occupied Ukrainian territories," Berezovets added.
