UAE Minister of State says Turkmenistan's role in global energy security growing

The accelerating energy transition further highlights Turkmenistan's critical role in maintaining global energy security as a stable and reliable supplier of hydrocarbon resources and as a country supporting the development of renewable and sustainable energy sources, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh UAE Minister of State, Member of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Abu Dhabi Development Fund, said at the International Forum on Attracting Foreign Investment in the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan, which opened on Wednesday in Dubai, Report informs.

In this regard, Al Sayegh stressed that such importance of Turkmenistan will only continue to grow. At the same time, he noted that the UAE, which has been involved in the energy sector of Turkmenistan for more than twenty years, is expanding the presence of its companies in the Turkmen economy through investments. The Minister of State expressed confidence that a dynamic bilateral partnership would only strengthen Turkmenistan's position as a major global energy supplier.

The UAE is also ready to work closely with Turkmenistan in other strategic areas, such as the development of ports, transport and logistics, as well as in addressing climate change challenges, Al Sayegh added.

In his speech, the UAE Minister of State also stressed that the UAE trips of Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in February 2023 and November 2022, respectively, served to further expand constructive and friendly relations.
