Turkmen president, Chinese envoy discuss bilateral cooperation issues

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow today received Chinese ambassador to the country, Qian Naicheng.

Report informs that during the meeting, the Turkmen leader gave the ambassador a message addressed to Chinese President Xi Jinping with congratulations on marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and China.

In his turn, the ambassador handed over to the Turkmen president a congratulatory message of the Chinese president with wishes of peace, stability, and prosperity to the entire Turkmen people.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow was also presented with an official diplomatic invitation to the upcoming XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, scheduled from 4 to 20 February 2022.

At the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation were also discussed. The president stressed that friendly relations and mutually beneficial partnership relations based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, respect, and trust have been actively developed and continue to grow steadily for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow also noted that interstate relations are harmoniously complemented by productive interaction within the framework of international organizations. In this regard, China expressed continued support for the neutral status of Turkmenistan, its international initiatives, and its proposals.
