Turkiye to produce aircraft and tanks

Turkiye is producing light armament, helicopters, howitzers, drones and vessels, country's Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said, Report informs, citing local media.

"We then export them to friendly and fraternal countries," he said.

Report informs, citing local media, that the minister said the country intends to develop production of weapons: "We will also produce aircraft and tanks. We have personnel, infrastructure and engineers to this end. Funds and universities, as well as private companies and public are working as a single fist. For the security and welfare of our country, we must meet the requirements of our armed forces on both local and national level. This is not luxury or choice, this is the need," Akar said.
