Türkiye to independently conduct operation in Iraq against PKK

The Turkish army will conduct a cross-border operation in northern Iraq against the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) without the support of the government in Baghdad and the administration of Iraqi Kurdistan, according to the Hürriyet newspaper, Report informs referring to TASS.
Preparations are in full swing and the operation can begin at any time. The goal is to create a security zone 30-40 km wide and ensure control along the entire border line of the two countries with a length of 378 km.
Some operational plans have been revised, in particular, issues of coordination of actions with Baghdad and Erbil are being worked out.
