Türkiye increasing level of diplomatic relations with Egypt to envoys

Türkiye and Egypt 10 years later fully restored diplomatic relations, bringing them to the level of ambassadors, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The Republic of Türkiye and the Arab Republic of Egypt announce the promotion of diplomatic relations between the two countries to the level of ambassadors. Türkiye has proposed the candidacy of Ambassador Salih Mutlu Sen for the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Cairo,” the report says.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry confirmed the information about the upgrade of diplomatic relations with Türkiye to the level of ambassadors. The corresponding statement was published on the official page of the Foreign Ministry on Facebook.

“The Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Türkiye announce the raising of diplomatic relations to the level of ambassadors. Egypt appoints Amr al-Hamami as its ambassador in Ankara. <...> This step is aimed at restoring diplomatic relations between the countries and reflects their common determination to work to strengthen bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the Egyptian and Turkish peoples,” reads the message.
