Türkiye expands list of documents for residence permit renewal

From April 15, foreigners wishing to renew their residence permit (RP) in Türkiye will additionally have to provide a UETS (national electronic notification system) address, the press service of the country's Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said, according to Report.

"Pursuant to the Notification Law No. 7201 and the Electronic Notification Regulation No. 30617, the National Electronic Notification System (UETS) was established for the sending and delivery of notices to individuals," the statement said.

To obtain UETS, it is necessary to submit a corresponding application to the post offices. It is also required to present a passport, a valid residence permit, and indicate an email and phone number.

In October 2023, the Turkish authorities raised the threshold for the value of real estate to $200,000, which allows investors to obtain a residence permit. Previously, it was $75,000 in Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya and $50,000 in other cities. The decision is connected with the desire of the country's leadership to ensure security and stop the migration of insolvent foreign citizens, and preserve ethnic integrity.
