Türkiye continues to fight forest fires

Forest fires continue to rage in the Turkish provinces of Canakkale and Sinop, Report informs referring to foreign media.

The fire is rapidly expanding under the influence of the wind, and access to the historical area of the Battle of Gallipoli has been suspended.

Canakkale Governor Omer Toraman said that 251 residents of the region were evacuated to safe areas due to the incident.

As many as 12 aircraft, 12 helicopters, about 100 units of ground equipment and 560 personnel have been deployed to fight the fire.
